Great news everybody, Sprint communicated that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update started hitting Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE smartphones. It carries the build number 9.8.2Q-122_XT897_FFW-5 and it should spread all over U.S. in the next couple of days. Everything is pushed OTA which means that a notification should pop up on your screen asking to download the update. I heard that you should receive it in one of the next 14 days, so from time to time go into the Settings menu in the System updates area and check to see if it’s ready.
It will come with improved GSM roaming, better voice search, Google Now, notification enhancements, improved quality in the camera department, better security and many others. Just give this Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS a try and see for yourself what it can do. Enough with the software, now let’s remember what this Photon Q has to offer. It comes equipped with an 8 megapixels camera having auto focus, geo tagging, LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording capability at 30 fps.
Under the hood we find a dual core CPU running at 1.5 GHz frequency, side by side with a graphics processor and 1 GB of RAM memory. Let’s not forget about that 4.3 inches capacitive multi touchscreen having a displaying resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.
